Our Mission And Vision
Our Mission
Fundough’s mission is to bridge the gap between local businesses and local organizations through a fundraising network that strengthens community connections. In a time when technology and busy lives have made neighborhoods feel distant, we’re rebuilding what truly makes communities thrive—real, benefitial relationships.
We bring people back together, in person, to create mutually beneficial partnerships where everyday purchases turn into meaningful support for local causes. By connecting sponsors with non-profits, schools, and community groups, Fundough transforms everyday transactions into opportunities for generosity, growth, and impact—right here at home.
Our Vision
We envision a community where neighbors are friends, businesses are trusted partners, and giving back is part of everyday life.
Our goal is to make the community feel smaller, closer, and stronger by fostering collaboration that benefits everyone involved.
When local organizations thrive, local businesses thrive—and together, we create a cycle of prosperity, connection, and purpose.
Fundough exists to turn community engagement into community transformation, ensuring that every relationship and every dollar spent contributes to a brighter, more connected future for all.

Fundough's History
Fundough's History
Fundough has deep roots the Ventura County community.
The program began in the 1970s as a franchise called Points For Profit, originally purchased by KDAR Christian Radio Station in Oxnard as an add-on benefit for their sponsors. At the time, KDAR was the first Radio Station owned by Salem Communications, the same company that owns KKLA. Points for Profit was a franchise sold exclusively to radio stations and In 2001 Rita Trejo became the program organizer.
When the franchise later dissolved, the group continued privately for two years under the leadership of a local husband-and-wife team. Although the program weathered many changes, it eventually seemed to come to an end. But two long-time sponsors, Richard Sulc and Tyler Tran, selling life insurance and annuities, refused to let the mission fade. In 2013, they revived the program under a new name—Shop For Fundough—and invited Rita back to help lead it once again.
After a decade of growth, Rita retired in 2023, remaining an active sponsor through her Creative Memories Scrapbooking business. She passed the torch to Leigha Heath, a passionate sponsor with a local home care agency.
With the continued support of Rita, Richard, and Tyler, Leigha reimagined the organization for the future—officially establishing Fundough.org as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2025.
That same year, the community mourned the passing of Richard Sulc, whose heart for connection and generosity continues to inspire Fundough’s mission today.
